The Turn of River Fire Department of Stamford Connecticut answered 2,126 calls during the year of 2006. We have been steadily increasing our call volume over the past recent years of service as there are more homes protected by automatic alarm systems now more than ever before and this number is increasing. We recommend testing your smoke detectors once every two weeks to insure they will function properly if needed. It is also recommended you vacuum your smoke detectors out every few months to avoid potential false alarms. Smoke detectors save lives!
