Station One is located at 268 Turn of River Road right near A&P Fresh, Walgreens, and Cosi. Quick and easy directions: [Take High Ridge Road to Buxton Farm Road, (which is just prior to the Merritt Parkway on-ramp). After you turn onto Buxton Farm Road, you will see our department on the left at the first stop sign.]

Membership Requirements:

•  You must live -or- work a minimum of 32 hours in the City of Stamford.
•  You must be physically able to perform the duties of a firefighter.
• You must not have been convicted of a felony.
• You must be 17 years of age to join.
   

Details: If you are at least 17 years of age, you may join TRFD as a “probationary” or “junior member.”  All training is provided free of charge to all of our members, including, but never limited to the following:  CT State Firefighter I certification, CT State Firefighter II certification, Hazmat Ops certification, Hazmat Technician certification, Emergency Medical Technician, as well as Medical Response Technician courses.  There are many other courses you may take free of charge, many of which are offered directly from our department.  The courses are paid for out of the annual fund drive funds.  To join, simply stop by TRFD Station #1 at any time to pick up an application. Feel free to call us at (203) 322-0943 if you have any questions.
